Judge Oscar J. Hale, Jr., was sworn in as a District Judge on January 1, 2005 . He earned a Law Degree from Texas Southern University in 1995. In May 1991, Judge Hale graduated from Texas A & M International University

Judge Hale served as an intern with Congressman Solomon Ortiz in Washington D.C. in 1991. He was a recipient of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Legislative Intern Award 1991.

Judge Hale served as a former President and Director of the Laredo Young Lawyers Association and as a former Director of the Webb County Bar Association. Judge Hale has also served as Region III President of the National Hispanic Prosecutors Association.

He is a former member of The College of the State Bar of Texas and of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Judge Oscar J. Hale, Jr., is duly admitted and licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas. He is also duly licensed and qualified to practice before the United States District Court Southern District of Texas, and before the United States Supreme Court.
