The County Attorney’s Office provides legal
services and representation when necessary to county officials and
employees as well as the Community Action Agency. Additionally, it
represents the Department of Family and Protective Services in child
abuse and neglect cases and the State of Texas, as may be necessary,
where it is a party including involuntary commitment cases.
The office handles matters dealing with, Juvenile Prosecution,
Environmental Code enforcement, Traffic Citations and legal issues
stemming from County Business. The office is comprised of your County
Attorney, ten assistant County Attorneys, office manager, juvenile
administrator, six investigators, and six legal assistants. The
County Attorney’s Office is located on the third floor of the
Administrative Building in Suite 301. Office hours are Monday through
Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The office is closed during the
12:00-1:00 p.m. lunch hour.
