Message from the District Attorney

The 49 th Judicial District Attorney's Office established a special Domestic Violence Unit in 1997. The unit continues to work toward creating and implementing a multi-county strategy to hold abusers accountable for their actions and to offer victims the help they need.

You may not have control over another person's violent behavior, but you do have a choice about how to respond. It is imperative that victims of domestic violence take the necessary steps to increase their safety, the safety of their children, and the safety of generations to come. If you or anyone you may know is a victim of domestic violence, please contact our office and we will help to guide you in the right direction.
