The Larga Vista Community Center is one of nine community centers that are under the direction of the County Judge and Commissioners Court. Commissioner Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina is the commissioner for Precinct 2 and this is where Larga Vista is located.

The community center is a place where families can come for assistance in many different areas. One service that we assist with is Utilities such as light, water, gas, and rental through the Community Action Agency. Our elderly are provided with a hot meal Monday through Friday. They also enjoy the company of one another and find entertainment in playing Loteria. Medical Assistance is provided through Mercy Ministries Mobil clinic. Once a month, the Food Bank is at the center distributing out food bags and registering qualifying residents for their program. Gateway Clinic assists the residents through the educational process of Diabetes and Nutrition Classes.

Our center is equipped with a Technology lab that has 15 computers to assist residents of all ages with research on the internet, write papers, and for job searching. The center also has a Library. There are many sorts of books available to check out, also once a week there is a movie that can be viewed. Our most recent program would be our Kids Café. This program provides the children of this area with a hot meal Monday through Friday.

There are many events that take place here at the Larga Vista Community Center. Different providers host meetings for the residents in this area for the purpose to become aware of the services that they provide.

Please feel free to come by the center anytime and ask what events are taking place. We are here to help you in the best way possible. With your help we can continue to provide these exceptional services and bring many more to your reach.

With our most Sincere Gratitude,
Larga Vista Staff
