Book Check out Policy

You must sign a check out policy agreement in order to check out books from the Law Library.

Most books are allowed to be checked out. Those books that are not available for check out have a red sticker on its spine.

As per County Commissioner’s Court 1990 ruling as provided under Local Government Code section 323.024, books must be returned in three business days. You may renew the book for an additional three (3) days: if (1) there is not a hold on the material and (2) it is called in before it is late.

If it is not timely returned or renewed, a fifty cent ($0.50) fee will be assessed per day with a $50.00 maximum. In addition, you may not check out any books until all fees are paid.

Note: The forms available at the Library are intended for use by licensed Texas attorneys. They are not intended for use by the general public because they may involve complex legal issues requiring an attoney’s expertise.  Use at your own risk.
