This project is most promising in the long term. We expect that the railway concession granted by the Mexican Government will specify Columbia as the site for its next rail bridge as opposed to the location that the City of Laredo has proposed for the location of a rail bridge (the City's proposed site would be on Mines Road where populated communities currently exist). One development is that the Mexican government has stated that it will not grant any more permits for the building of rail infrastructure within the city limits of any Mexican city. This means that they are promoting the building of rail in outlying regions which is what our project is trying to achieve. Although this is a long-term project, it is the start of what will soon be an outer-loop for rail, and the eventual elimination of rail crossings within Laredo city limits.
