The Bruni Community Center is one of nine community centers that are under the direction of the County Judge and Commissioners Court. Commissioner Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina is the commissioner for Precinct 2 and this is where Bruni Community Center is located.
The community center is a place where families can come for assistance in many different areas. One service that we have is BANC (Border Area Nutrition Council) they provide our Elderly with a hot meal Monday through Friday. They also enjoy the company of one another and find entertainment in playing Loteria and making Arts and Crafts. Once a month, the Food Bank is at the center distributing out food bags and registering qualifying residents for their program. Our most recent program would be our Kids Café. This program provides the children of this area with a hot meal Monday through Friday.
There are many events that take place here at the Bruni Community Center. Different providers host meetings for the residents in this area of Bruni, Texas for the purpose to become aware of the services that they provide.
