Rolando San Miguel, A seasoned officer with 28 years of experience has been elected as the new Webb County Constable for Pct 4. He was sworn in on January 1, 2025. Known for his extensive background in law enforcement and his expertise as a K9 trainer, the newly elected Constable brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to his new role.
Throughout his distinguished career, Constable Rolando San Miguel has served in various capacities, such as DEA Task Force Officer, FBI Task Force Officer, AFT Task Force Officer. Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to public safety and community engagement he also became Firearms Instructor, K-9 Handler,K-9 Certifying Officer with National Narcotics Dog. specialization in K9 training has not only enhanced the capabilities of law enforcement units but has also fostered stronger bonds between the police force and the community. He has accomplished over 300 arrests, has seized over 9 million dollars working highway interdiction.
While working for Laredo Police Department, Constable Rolando San Miguel was recognized for having seized the largest money seizure within the Laredo Police Department.
Since Constable Rolando San Miguel took office he has worked along with his Command Staff to restructure department daily operations He has changed the daily schedule to have deputies on duty till 8 pm. This will help serve civil process paperwork since most people are home after 5 pm and will also help increase court security for night court at the Justice of the Peace Pct 4.
Constable Rolando San Miguel along with his command staff have made certain that all deputies are incompliance with mandated training as per TCOLE.
Constable San Miguel has made it a priority to keep our school children safe. Pct 4 deputies start their day at 7 am to assist United ISD police to direct traffic in the schools where most people travel in the morning and afternoon. Constable Rolando San Miguel is in the process of establishing a First Response Team. Who will train diligently to be able to respond when assisting other law enforcement entities.
Constable San Miguel has also updated police patrol technology to help deputies when they are out on the field. All patrol units are equipped with radio access which gives deputies communication with Webb County Sherriff’s office dispatchers and GPS system has been integrated to ensure the safety of the deputies. GPS system gives the exact location of the deputies in case of an emergency.
In his new position, the Constable San Miguel aims to leverage his experience to implement innovative strategies that promote safety, trust, and collaboration within the community. His leadership is expected to continue to bring about positive changes, reinforcing the importance of experienced and compassionate law enforcement in today's society. highlighting the value of seasoned professionals in shaping effective and responsive law enforcement agencies.
