FILING CLERKS
The District Clerk’s Office has personnel that work directly with new cases. As the pleadings are filed, the filing clerks issue a case number and assign a court date for each case.
These cases include civil lawsuits and family law cases such as adoptions and divorces. The clerks also issue citations and all other documents that may be issued by the office.
The filing clerks are responsible for collecting processing fees and any outstanding payments on current cases.
In addition, they provide the public with important information by answering questions about the legal process.

49th DISTRICT COURT CLERKS
The 49th District Court was the first established court of Webb County. This court has the broadest jurisdiction of all courts as it handles both civil and criminal cases, in addition to tax suits.
The presiding judge in the 49th District Court is Joe Lopez. The District Clerk’s Office has six Deputy Clerks assigned to handle all matters regarding this court.
Their duties include taking notes in the courtroom and updating case files and participating in the impaneling of jurors of court cases.
The clerks also handle all requests and issue the necessary documents filed in this court such as citations and warrants, which are mainly served by the Sheriff’s Department and/or Webb County Constables.

111th DISTRICT COURT
The 111th District Court was the second established Court in Webb County. This court handles both civil and criminal cases. The presiding judge in the 111th District Court is Monica Z. Notzon, who was elected as judge in 2011.
The District Clerk’s Office has four Deputy Clerks assigned to handle all matters regarding this court. These clerks participate in the impaneling of jurors for court cases.
Daily duties include taking notes in the courtroom and updating case files, issuing legal documents and assisting the public in all matters relating to the 111th District Court.

The 341st District Court was created on August of 1983. This court handles civil and criminal cases. The presiding judge in the 341st District Court is Beckie Palomo, who was elected as judge in 2013.

The 406th District Court was created on January 1, 2001. This court handles civil, criminal, and family law cases. The presiding judge in the 406th District Court is Oscar J. Hale, Jr.
