The Neighborhood Empowerment Zone (NEZ) Program
What is the NEZ Program?
The Neighborhood Empowerment Zone (NEZ) program was created by Webb County to support community development and revitalization. Its main goal is to offer property abatements to encourage:
- Building or improving affordable housing
- Supporting economic growth
- Enhancing Public safety, education, and social services
- Rehabilitating existing housing
All applications for this program are reviewed and approved by the Webb County Commissioners' Court.

- Tax savings for property owners who improve or build in a designated NEZ area.
- Support for both single-family and multi-unit housing projects.
