INDIGENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
What is the Webb County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP)?
The CIHCP is a State Mandated/ County Funded Program- administered locally by the county to provide basic health care services to eligible county residents that do
not have health insurance coverage. In 1986 the State of Texas passed the Indigent Health Care Treatment Act, a law under Chapter 61 of the Texas Health and Safety
Code that obligates counties to provide Basic Health Care Services to qualifying individuals based on established eligibility criteria.
What Medical Services are Covered ?
If eligible, county residents will receive pre-authorized vouchers that they can use to consult with specialized physicians and/or obtain other medical services such as prescription medications, lab & x-rays exams, surgical procedures, chemotherapy/radiation treatments, etc….
PHYSICIAN SERVICES- Cardiologist, Endocrinologist, Gastroenterologist, Gynecologist, Hematologist, Nephrologist,, Oncologist, Podiatrist, Pulmonologist, etc…
HOSPITAL SERVICES- Emergency Room Visits, Hospital Admissions, Intensive Care Unit, Wound Care, Surgical Procedures, Hyperbaric Treatments, Chemotherapy Treatments, Radiation Treatments, Infectious Diseases, X-rays, MRI, CAT scan, Ultrasound, Thallium stress test, Laboratory exams, etc..
LABS/X-RAY SERVICES- X-rays, CAT scans, MRI, Ultrasound, Thallium stress test, Laboratory exams, etc…
PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS- Hypertension, Diabetes, Hormonal treatment, Pain relievers, Cholesterol, Antibiotics, Anti-seizure, Allergy treatment, Acid reducers, etc…
