MEDICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Webb County Medical Assistance Program
was created as a way to assist low-income county residents, who are not eligible under the County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP), but need limited, short-term, or temporary assistance with the following medical services:
Covered Services:
* Physician Consultations
* Exams
* Medical Procedures
* Minor Surgeries
* Medications
The goal of this program is to provide more cost effective care, early on, in an effort to avoid having further medical complications that would require future hospitalizations and higher medical costs.
Examples:
*
broken/fractured bones
*
final consultation with physician for back-to-work release
*
post-discharge consultation with physician after release from hospital
*
minor outpatient surgical procedures
Eligible County residents: County residents with no other medical coverage (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, etc.) who meet program income/resource limits.
Fees/ Requirements: Clients may be required to pay back a portion or the entire amount expensed by the county for any medical services covered.
