Scofflaw Program
scoff·law [skaf-law, skof-]
noun
1. A person who disregards the law, especially by failing to pay fines.
2. Someone who ignores rules, conventions, or accepted standards.
Webb County is preparing to launch the Scofflaw Program, which will prevent residents from registering or renewing their motor vehicles if they have unpaid fines or fees that are more than 90 days overdue. Individuals flagged as "scofflaws" must pay all outstanding amounts in full and be removed from the list before vehicle registration services can resume.
